Turning 40 degrees on the spot, the character’s animation swung the feet about 14 cm across the ground. Planted feet now stay exactly where they are until the character takes a step or turns past 50 degrees. The rule is the same on every machine; in tests, a remote copy of the character releases a foot only slightly later than the player’s own, by exactly its smoothing, and never earlier. Feet that slid while crouching were fixed too.

An optional first-person body exposed something else. With the body drawn, the camera turned out to sit 20.3 cm behind the male survivor’s eyes, inside his chest, and 12.8 cm behind the female survivor’s. The body now reports where its eyes actually are, so a camera can follow them.

The first-person body is still switched off in the normal launch, and the camera has not moved yet. A camera placed at the eyes still sees the inside of the head, which is why that work continues. Third person, which had been showing the gray stand-in mannequin, now shows the survivor.
